Why Specific Encouragement Matters

Grace for the Next Chapter — Why Specific Encouragement Matters

Most of us know someone doing good work quietly. We may notice their patience, consistency, or kindness and assume they already know.

Often they do not.

General praise is pleasant. Specific encouragement gives a person something solid to carry: “You made room for me.” “You stayed calm when the situation was tense.” “Your follow-through helped.”

Grace teaches us to see people carefully and speak life truthfully. Encouragement is not flattery. It is naming the good we have actually witnessed.

TODAY’S STEP: Tell one person exactly what you appreciate and why it mattered.

REFLECTION: Who might stand a little taller because you named the good you see?
