• Some seasons bring fewer obligations. Others bring so many choices that freedom becomes exhausting. We can spend all day comparing options and still avoid the one decision that matters.

I learned in leadership that every decision does not deserve equal energy. Some choices need prayer and wisdom. Others simply need a reasonable answer so we can move forward.

Grace frees us from believing every choice must be perfect. Faithfulness is not predicting every outcome. It is choosing the best next step we can see, then trusting God beyond what we can control.

TODAY’S STEP: Name one decision you have delayed. Decide what truly matters, choose, and move.

REFLECTION: Where is the search for perfect keeping you stuck?

  • Notice the Small Things

    Notice the Small Things

We spent this past weekend at the beach visiting friends. As the sun went down, I stopped and watched for a minute.

Nothing dramatic happened. Just the horizon, the breeze, the sand, and people I care about nearby.

Some of life’s best gifts are easy to miss because they do not announce themselves. A sunset. A conversation. A laugh. Sitting beside someone you love.

Grace often meets us in ordinary moments. Maybe part of this next chapter is learning not to rush past them.

TODAY’S STEP: Pause long enough today to notice one small gift.

REFLECTION: What ordinary moment might you be overlooking?

  • Do the Next Small Thing

We often wait for motivation before beginning. But motivation is unreliable. Some mornings it never gets out of bed.

Education, ministry, the military, and athletics taught me that movement often comes before motivation. Take one step, then another. Momentum grows through action.

Grace does not demand that we fix everything today. It meets us where we are and helps us do the next faithful thing. The goal is not a dramatic comeback. It is a faithful beginning.

TODAY’S STEP: Choose one task you have delayed and work on it for ten minutes.

REFLECTION: What could change if you stopped waiting to feel ready?

  • Reconnecting Is Worth the Effort

There comes a point in life when friendships don’t happen as naturally as they once did.

When we were younger, school, work, kids, church, sports, and busy schedules kept putting people in our path. But a new season of life can change those rhythms. If we aren’t intentional, people who matter to us can slowly drift to the edges.

I’m learning that reconnecting takes effort. Sometimes it means making the call instead of thinking about making the call. Sending the text. Meeting for breakfast. Sitting down over a cup of coffee. Making room on the calendar for people who have been part of our story—and being willing to make room for new friendships too.

Relationships are one of those things in life that rarely grow by accident. They grow because somebody decides the relationship is worth the effort.

Maybe there’s someone you’ve been meaning to call. Don’t overthink it. Reach out.

Grace for today: Don’t wait for connection to come looking for you. Take one small step toward someone who matters.
