“How are you?” is a good question, but most of us have learned to answer it without saying much.
Real connection often begins with a better question: What has been giving you energy lately? What has been heavy? What are you looking forward to? Then comes the harder part—staying quiet long enough to hear the answer.
We do not need a perfect setting to deepen a relationship. We need curiosity, attention, and enough patience to move past the automatic response.
Grace helps people feel seen, not examined. The goal is not to gather information. It is to understand somebody.
TODAY’S STEP: Ask one person a thoughtful follow-up question today.
