Let the Conversation Finish

Grace for the Next Chapter — Let the Conversation Finish

Sometimes we stop listening before the other person stops speaking. We are already preparing an answer, solving the problem, or remembering a similar story.

Our intention may be helpful. Still, the person in front of us can leave feeling unheard.

Grace asks us to make room for another person’s experience. We do not have to fix everything they name. We can listen long enough to understand what matters to them.

A little silence can be a gift. It says there is room here for the rest of your thought.

TODAY’S STEP: Let someone finish before offering advice.
